Iowa Department of Natural Resources to Offer CFM Exam
The Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) has established a national program for professional certification of floodplain managers. The Certified Floodplain Managers (CFM®) program recognizes continuing education and professional development that enhance the knowledge and performance of local, state, federal, and private-sector floodplain managers. This certification is awarded by the ASFPM directly to individuals who apply and successfully pass an exam, demonstrating their knowledge of the basic national standards and programs of floodplain management.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) will offer an opportunity to take the ASFPM Certified Floodplain Managers Exam:

Iowa Historical Museum
600 Locust Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa
Free parking is available in the parking structure located north of the Historical Museum (http://tinyurl.com/capitol-complex-parking).
Because of COVID-19 related physical distancing requirements, a maximum of 5 people will be allowed to take the exam at this location. Wearing a face mask will be required.
In order to take the exam, you must complete the application for the CFM Program which is available on the ASFPM website at: https://tinyurl.com/v7vhstj8. The fee for taking the exam is $100 for ASFPM members and $480 for non-members. You may submit an application for membership at the same time as applying for the exam.
In order to be considered to take the Certified Floodplain Managers Exam at this location, you must submit your completed application along with the appropriate fee to ASFPM by June 11, 2021. No walk-ins will be allowed unless authorized by the ASFPM Executive office.
Please remember to bring a picture ID and #2 pencils to the exam
