About this event
USACE Permits, Application Process, & How it Applies to Iowa Floodplain & Stormwater Management
The duty of the Department of the Army’s Regulatory Program is to protect the Nation’s aquatic resources, while allowing reasonable development through fair, flexible and balanced permit decisions. The Corps of Engineers issues permits for the discharge of dredged or fill material placed into Waters of the United States. This webinar will cover common nationwide and regional permits that may be relevant to floodplain and stormwater management activities and the requirement of mitigation when applicable. Also discussed will be the new Regulatory Request System in which permit applications are submitted.

Emma processes permit applications for temporary and permanent impacts to Waters of the United State utilizing Nationwide, Regional and Individual Permits. She is also a mitigation bank manager, overseeing the development and management of mitigation banks in Iowa. While the different regulations are sometimes a challenge to know, follow, and enforce; learning something new every day is a highlight of the position.
